ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Minnesota lawmakers will celebrate President's Day with a special tribute to Abraham Lincoln.
A ceremony with a Lincoln impersonator reading the "Gettysburg Address" will be held Monday at the Capitol.
This year is the 200th anniversary of Lincoln's birthday, and special events are being held across the country.
Republican Rep. Dean Urdahl of Grove City says he will read a resolution commemorating the nation's 16th president on the House floor. Urdahl says Lincoln's Homestead Act of 1862 brought thousands of settlers to Minnesota.
Urdahl says one of Lincoln's other contributions that affected Minnesota was the Morrill Land Grant Act, which led to the establishment of the University of Minnesota.
