Obama returns calls to global leaders
 

(AP) CHICAGO - President-elect Barack Obama called U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and four foreign leaders Wednesday to respond to their congratulatory calls after his election victory.

Obama’s transition office said the president-elect expressed his appreciation for their congratulations.

The calls included:

_Colombian President Alvaro Uribe

_Nigerian President Umaru Yar’Adua

_Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade

_South African President Kgalema Motlanthe

_U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon
