NADEAU: Delays, Protesters, the Final Day

We are at Baja Sol for a reception for our delegation. I wasn't going to eat again--seems like I do that a lot--but the food is too tempting.

We had our regular morning meeting to discuss the day's schedule and listen to a couple speakers. Congressmen Ramstad and Kline thanked us for our service to the candidates and asked us to continuing working hard for our candidates.

After a quick check of my email and changing my clothes, we went to catch a bus for a reception with the Iowa delegation. The bus was delayed for over an hour due to protesters.

This place is beautiful! Alexander Ramsey was the first territorial governor of Minnesota and the second governor. The house is open every Friday and Saturday and is especially great during the holidays (extended hours) and for special eventsm. For some reason the Iowans haven't shown up. Although it is terrific to be from Minnesota, I think they may be disappointed to see us. Iowa is just more exotic than Minnesota I guess.

We'll walk to the X from the Alexander Ramsey House. My feet haven't failed me yet but they may go on strike if I don't give them a break pretty soon. (It is no wonder, I am still in heals!)

The convention center is really busy. I stopped at the gift shop to pick up a tee shirt for my husband and something to use for a senate district fundraiser. The prices are reasonable but the Zumas don't seem to be moving to fast. Wonder why.

A girl with a western shirt (stitching and mother-of-pearl buttons just announced that the country's youngest mayor (of some city in Oklahoma) is celebrating his birthday and at 5:20 they want everyone to start singing Happy Birthday. He's 20.

I pick up one of those convention kits for the fundraiser. It is heavy and I wonder if I have time to run to my hotel before we get started.
