After a hard-fought, drawn-out primary battle between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama; the Democratic Party hopes to find unity in Denver.
5 EYEWITNESS NEWS surveyed Minnesota delegates at the Democratic National Convention and asked them about the key issues that face our next president.
One seemingly benign question drew a decidedly bitter response. When asked who Sen. Obama should pick as his running mate, one delegate answered, "Hillary Clinton should be the nominee and Barack should have waited his turn. Instead he ruined our shot at 16 years in the White House."
Most delegates did answer the question. Obama's pick, Deleware Sen. Joe Biden, tops the list with seven votes.
But close behind, with six votes each, is Clinton and Virginia Governor Tim Kaine.
"Joe Biden was one of my second or third choices as far as presidential candidates when I got involved in this. He's a strong voice and he can refine the issues and have the conversation of where this country is going," one delegate wrote.
