BERGSTROM: The Breakfasts

Each morning all the MN delegates, alternates & guests meet at 7 a.m. (7 a.m.? Good G-d) for breakfast. We get a nice breakfast sponsored by some generous companies and then here from a ton of speakers and get our credentials.

Anyway, so far we have heard from a few members of MN's Congressional delegation as well as guests from other delegations. So far the best guest has been Jimmy Hoffa, Jr., General President of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. He gave a great talk about the importance of the election and of the labor movement. I think people forget too often that our country was built on the backs of laborers. Not until 1935 did working men and women earn the right to organize. And we must remember that men and women have a right not only to work, but to earn a fair and living wage.

Anywya, Mr. Hoffa didn't touch on this, but know that when we finally organize the workers in Walmart and get them the rights, wages, and insurance they earn every day, it will be the teamsters who lead the way. First step: unionize the truckers out of the largest West Coast ports. Let's get it done!
