SCOTT: 1st Day of the Convention

Greetings!

Things have been very exciting here in Denver. Yesterday (1st day of the convention) I spent a lot of my time just taking it all in as a first time delegate. I participated in the the afternoon caucus meetings and met a lot of very interesting people.

At the convention, the floor was quite exciting. As a veteran, I really wanted to meet and personally thank some Senators that had been working for veteran's issues. Thankfully, I was able to meet, thank, and take my photo with Senator Webb and Senator Kerry. Both of them were a real treat, and we spoke briefly about my Iraq experience.

I was amazed at the grandiose nature of the celebration. This really is an historic convention.

Watching Michelle Obama speak was very inspiring, as it was in my opinion one of the best speeches she has ever given.

Today I am really looking forward to Senator Clinton's keynote address, and in the coming days the veteran's themed day, as I represent the only delegate from Minnesota that is an Iraq war veteran.

Until next time,

Sam Scott
